The challenge
The finance team dealt with lost paper receipts, slow reimbursements and error-prone manual spreadsheet entry.
What I did
- 01Built a Telegram bot where staff simply upload receipt photos.
- 02Added AI OCR to extract vendor, total, taxes and transaction date.
- 03Added a confirmation step where users pick the expense purpose.
- 04Appended each entry to a master Google Sheet and archived the image in Google Drive.
Results
- Expense processing cut from days to under 10 seconds per receipt.
- Every receipt backed up, with no lost tax documents.
